Meet Amanda Dirkx, BSN, RN Owner & Muscle Testing Practitioner 😊

“I’m Amanda, the founder of Deeply Rooted Healing. In October 2022, I opened our doors in Ankeny, Iowa, and this year we celebrate three years of walking alongside families on their wellness journeys.

I am an Advanced Trained Nutrition Response Testing® Practitioner with clinical training from UNS in Clearwater, Florida, and a Bachelor of Nursing from Upper Iowa University.

My background includes pediatrics, public health, trauma informed care certified, breastfeeding education, and I am currently pursuing certification through the American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Corporation (AHNCC).

My passion for holistic care began with my own health struggles. For years, I battled depression, anxiety, weight gain, and Hashimoto’s disease. It wasn’t until I experienced the power of whole-food nutrition, functional medicine, and lifestyle changes that I began to heal. That personal journey inspired me to help others uncover the root causes of their symptoms and reclaim their health.

Today, my work focuses on educating and empowering patients. We address hidden stressors such as toxins, chemicals, mold, and pathogens through non-invasive muscle testing and personalized nutrition plans.

It really is the little things that become the big things! 💚

1. Screen time: no social media or electronics 1 hour after rising and 1 hour before bed

2. Water: clean high quality water is essential! Many contaminants, chemicals and pathogens can be found in regular tap water.

3: Air: clean air is also a foundation for health and health! No fragrances, candles or room sprays and having air purifiers running is best!

4. Eating: chewing our food sufficiently and eating without any electronic distractions will do so much for digestion, bloating and nutrient absorption.

5. The great outdoors: get outside as much as possible! Breathing fresh air, absorbing vitamin d directly from the sun and connecting with nature is good for physical, mental and emotional health.

6. Movement: the lymph system requires movement because it doesn’t have its own “pump.” Daily movement is essential for drainage and detoxing.

7. Bowel movements: 1-3 regular bowel movements daily is ideal, allowing toxins to leave the body. This is something we help many people with daily in our office if you are needing support!

Pick a level & amount of time you are ready to commit to the detox - day, week, month? And comment what you will be doing!

Level One: set screen time limits on your phone. Settings > Screen Time > App Limits. Completely customize the apps & time you allow daily for specific apps.

Level Two: delete apps. This mostly pertains to social media & games. If you NEED to stay up to date in groups, events, etc designate a short period of time each day you can log in on your computer to check up.

Level Three: invest in a @getbrick - this is a physical device that locks you out of distracting apps & their notifications. You must physically place the device on your phone to unlock the apps you have chosen to be locked. Very helpful tool for the ultimate detox.
